It’s not uncommon to have money stresses around this time of year. When we are looking to buy a great gift for someone that we love, we have to balance it out between the finances we have at our disposal and the sort of gifts that they want.
Sometimes they aren’t compatible. If we are trying to buy something that we know they will love, we might think that we’ve got to put a hefty price tag on it. But how can we buy a great gift when we have little money?
When we are buying a gift for a loved one we think that we have to buy brand new, that’s sparkling out of the box. This is not the case. In fact, there are plenty of used watches that look fantastic and have that sparkle in them.
Used doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad. And when we look at buying used items, they can still come with a hefty price tag but we can make sure that we can pay a monthly fee. That way, you can still purchase a very grand and expensive item, and it’s still used.
Focus On The Experience
More and more people are focusing on buying experiences rather than physical presents. Perhaps this is to do with the fact that we are becoming less materialistic as people. For those people who don’t tell you what they want for Christmas, an experience or something that they can enjoy in the new year is a perfect opportunity.
You can get them a small gift basket for Christmas day, but while getting them something like a gym membership may not seem like a good idea for a gift, but if they are a fitness fanatic and don’t have the money to afford a gym membership themselves, this is an ideal gift!
Focus on the experience, and this could very well be something like a concert ticket for your partner’s favorite band. These things are fantastic ideas, and they don’t necessarily have to cost a lot of money. At the same time, think about the fact that you don’t have to buy a massive gift upfront, and you have time to save up for it.
Give Them Something Of Sentimental Value
Sentimental doesn’t mean cheap. When we are looking to give our partner something that means a lot, it doesn’t have to be expensive. It all depends on the type of person that they are, but when we start to look at something of sentimental value, it could be a very simple thing. In fact, it could be deceptively simple.
Look at something like a photo album, putting all of your children’s photos together or giving them something that they haven’t seen for years, packaged in a beautiful box could bring back so many memories. Something sentimental is worth more than the price tag of a widescreen television.
When we start to look at sentimental value, this can feel like a fantastic gift. This can allow you to get them something with very little money, and it could be better than anything they ever dreamed of.
